The Three FairiesĪs mentioned earlier in this review, the most recent update of the Baldo: The Guardian Owls has introduced (completely free of charge) a new adventure, selectable from the starting screen – separately from the main plot – and lasting about 10 hours, as previously mentioned. In possession of the spadea weapon that is found right in the first dungeon, defeating the smaller enemies will be a breeze, but before you get there you will have to pay attention to any creature that wanders walking on the rotten wood of the old galleon. A little reasoning is also required to complete the test in the best possible way.

The structure of the galleon – and the dungeons to follow – is well thought out, full of rooms in which you may need to return to complete the exploration, hidden doors and a series of enemies to take down.
The missions are linear, but not therefore easy to perform.Īfter the first hour of play, Baldo: The Guardian Owls puts the protagonist in front of the first real dungeona sunken galleon which, according to legends, hides a large one treasure (and the first boss in history). Some of these might seem easy, as you get the clear and concise instructionsbut one will be needed thorough research to find what has been lost, or what is needed to complete the assigned task. The title proceeds in such a way linear if the choice is to stick to the main missions, but it gets more tangled if players decide to 100% complete each mission. While simple to complete, the mission triggers a second, and then a third, not to mention the secondary missions that can be activated by talking to villagers who need help. With one anime inspired graphic style and drawn by hand, which remains the absolute strength of the game, the players take on the role of the young Baldo and begin to to explore the paths and the starting village, after having received the first mission. Starting Baldo: The Guardian Owls it is a very captivating experience. There is no trick, there is no deception … but research Following this update, many have re-evaluated the game, after having condemned it last summer.
An important turning point for Baldo came a few weeks ago, with a update which introduced, completely free of charge, a new adventure (which allows players to enjoy the title for at least another 10 hours), the assisted mode and other fixes and improvements within the main adventure. Also, in the course of the adventure they are present dungeons, puzzles and side missions, which work alongside the main ones to create a richer texture.
